Eight Lab Practice Scenarios

 

  • Your client is an 88 year old male. He has dentures and wears eye glasses. He is paralyzed on the right side. He requires AM care, which will include a bed bath and making and occupied bed. You notice a reddened area on his right hip. Complete care and document the care given.


  • Your client is an 89 year old female. She wears eyeglasses and has dentures. She is paralyzed from the chest down from a car accident and has an indwelling catheter. She requires AM care, which includes a bed bath and making an occupied bed. You observe the urine in the catheter tube is dark and cloudy. Complete care and document the care given.

 

  • Your client is a 43 year old female. She has MS and has difficulty walking and has poor balance. She requires AM care, which will include a partial bath and you will make the bed following personal care. You notice a skin tear on her left arm. Complete care and document the care given.

 

  • Your client is a 54 year old female who has had post surgical complications from a hysterectomy. She is bedridden and has a catheter. She requires AM care, which includes a complete bed bath, catheter care, and an making an occupied bed. You observe red streaks across her abdomen. Complete care and document the care given.

 

  • Your client is a 44 year old male. He has recently had abdominal surgery and has a catheter. He is unsteady at times but is mobile and is in his own home. He requires AM care, which includes a partial bath, catheter care, and you will make the bed after care is completed. Complete care and document the care given.

 

  • Your client is a 75 year old female. She suffers from dementia. She is mobile and can be aggressive at times. She has here own teeth and wears a hearing aid. She is in her own home and requires AM care, which includes a partial bath and you will make the bed after care is completed. Complete care and document the care given.

 

  • Your client is a 94 year old female. She is confused and disoriented. She walks with a walker and lives in her own home. She has her own teeth and wears a hearing aid. She requires AM care, which will include a partial bath and you will make the bed following personal care. You notice a bruise on her right arm. complete care and document the care given.

 

  • Your client is an 87 year old male. He has suffered a stroke and is paralyzed on the right side. He has a hearing aid and dentures. He requires AM care, which includes a partial bath and you will make the bed after care is completed. Complete care and document the care given.
