typical rash with DM, as opposed to PM

Gottron's papules

heliotrope rash - violet coloration of the eyelid

Shawl sign - maculopapular rash in mainly sunexposed areas

mechanic's hands - hyperkeratosis and cracking

 

multiple organs involved: muscles, skin, lungs, heart, GI tract
