Introduction

Histology department receives human tissues that were removed in the OR or a doctor’s office. The tissue gets fixed, processed, embedded, sectioned, and stained for the pathologist to review. It is the Pathologists’ job to diagnose cancers and any other abnormalities microscopically. It is the technologists’ job to make sure the tissue is perfectly preserved and stained so the pathologist can make these diagnoses.
