Clinical Manifesations

Immunosuppression is an important predisposing factor for Aspergillus infection.

Allegric bronchiopulmonary aspergilliosis resembles asthma.

Fungal balls can develop in cavities such as the lungs or sinuses

Invasive disease can cause tissue destruction and pneumonia

 

Diagnosis

microscopy (KOH)

culture (multiple positives required to R/O contaminants)
