Introduction

Tall stature in children does not necessarily correlate with adult height.

Constitutional: most common

Endocrine: pituitary gigantism, precocious puberty, thyrotoxicosis, Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome

genetic: Marfan syndrome, Klinefelter syndrome, Sotos syndrome, homocystinuria

calculate mid-parental height

hyperextensible joints, long fingers in marfan syndrome

Only required for pituitary gigantism
