Obstetrics and Gynecology Education

Obstetrics, more than any other field of medicine, combines clinical skills, diagnosis, medical mangement, emergency management, procedures, and operations . The delivery of a baby to the world and its parents is perhaps the greatest event in health care, and students are priviledged to share this time filled with excitement, anxiety, and pain.

The nature of the obstetric history and physical exam requires maturity, sensitvity, and confidence from students. The following cannot teach this, but provides background information for students to build upon.
