Introduction
Certification for Assessment
There are three main criteria for certification for assessment:
- mental illness
- significant risk for harm of self or others
- supports at home?
- not willing to come into hospital
Certification for Treatment
Patients can be admitted without having treatment forced upon them. This can only happen if they are deemed incompetent.
