Corticotropin-Releasing Hormone

Corticotropin-Releasing Hormone (CRH)

Function

Released from the hypothalamus, induces ACTH production of the anterior pituitary to cause cortisol and androgen release from the adrenal cortex.

Regulation of Expression

CRH is a stress responsive hormone, affected by neural signals from above.

It is inhibited by cortisol levels.
